Selling guitars on ebay

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 @ 5:29 pm | selling guitars

Few weeks ago, i decided to sell (on eBay) every guitars i owned. I realise that the money i’ll make with those will allow to buy a much higher quality guitar. I started with my black Fender Stratocaster made in mexico, continued with a Fender electro-acoustic cutaway, a Rockwood bass with a 15W XPamp and a Norman B-20 acoustic. A roland spd-6 was on my list too. I’ve already sell a lot of items on eBay but the experience of selling my guitars was unique.

Norman B201€ is my favorite start price for every auction on ebay. Experience shows that a higher start price will reduce chances that bidders “watch” your item and do not garantee higher bids. I try to sell the maximum items at the same time to offer more experience and trust to the bidder. No matter what, the bid will only reach a comfortable price if the description field is very descriptive and the photos are good with general view and details ones.

Nevertheless, i couldn’t find any reason why my Fender DG-14SCE acoustic ends up to 150€ (the price i bought it 6 months before brand new) but the Norman B20 at 100€ (which cost 350€ ! argh)…Fender DG-14SCE

Each selling of an instrument was a hard moment to pass. Every time, i felt as if i lost a big family “souvenir”. It tooks me more than 3 weeks to sold them. After emptying my flat of any musical instrument, i began to think about what guitar can feet my needs. Then an idea hurt my mind… I’ve never thrown away a guitar and i don’t know anyone who have. So, where do all that guitars goes ? does the population of guitars in the world are completly raising up and up and up… Do guitars suffer of overcrowding on earth ? Will they ? Can we reach a 100% penetration rate of the market ?
